INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR

What initially got you interested in writing?
I grew up in the Great Depression of the 1930’s.  I had two talents, music and story telling.  I found out I could make a living using those talents.

How did you decide to make the move into becoming a published author?
In 1945 When I sold my first detective sstory to Mike Tilden, in 1945 editor of DETECTIVE TALES.

What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?
That the characters in my stories are real people and the reader becomes so involved in the story, he or she has to keep turning pages.

What do you find most rewarding about writing?
That it is a creative art.  All my life I have supported myself with the arts, music and writing.

What do you find most challenging about writing?
Understanding how to plot a story that is convincing.

What advice would you give to people wanting to enter the field?
Read other stories.  Learn from how  they plot and develop characters. Study Polti’s  “36 DRAMATIC SITUATIONS.“

Is there anything else besides writing you think people would find interesting about you?
I lived my life on my own terms, a life that has been as exciting  as my stories. The love story of my wife and me, is as great as the thousands of our love stories that have been published all over the world.

I am in my 90’s and still turning out novels and stories that are as good as ever.  My latest novel SNATCHED was recently published by ProSe Publishers.
