A missing person + a do-gooder father + a new friend = An adventure in which Naomi finds more than a murderer.
Naomi is off to Australia with her father in her latest vacation. She expects a drama-free trip to Oz with her dependable father. That all ends at check-in when they encounter a young woman searching for her boyfriend. Fellow traveler Daniel drags them into a search for the missing man in the Red Centre. In between sunset tours, daytime hikes, and Vegemite tastings, Naomi wanders ever closer to danger.
Interview with the Author
What initially got you interested in writing?
I had a story in my head that wouldn’t go away (Gone But Not Missed). While driving to work, I would ponder the initial question, “What if someone didn’t show up for work one day?” From there, Lily, Laude and their world was born.
What genres do you write in?
Mystery
What drew you to writing these specific genres?
I love mystery novels. It’s primarily the genre I read.
How did you break into the field?
I self published Gone But Not Missed, the first in the Nathan Miccoli Mystery series.
What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?
Life is journey. Whether you are traveling internationally with Naomi (in The Traveler Cozy Mystery series), navigating grief with Cecilia (in Saving Ferris), or relationships with Lily (in The Nathan Miccoli Mystery series), we all travel a winding, interesting, sometimes humorous and often stressful path.
What do you find most rewarding about writing?
Getting the story that is stuck in my head onto the page.
What do you find most challenging about writing?
Editing, making sure all the pieces together. I’m always fascinated by what I think is clear but learn it’s clear as mud to a reader.
What advice would you give to people wanting to enter the field?
Read. Write.
Take a writing class. Read in your genre.
What type of books do you enjoy reading?
Anything by Stephen King. I also enjoy mysteries, of course!
Is there anything else besides writing you think people would find interesting about you?
I have worked full time during the pandemic— in home care on Long Island and published 3 books during this time. (One was written pre-pandemic. One was completed during pandemic. This book was written during the pandemic.)
Since I can’t travel right now, I’m reliving my travels through writing Naomi’s adventures.

About A. R. Kennedy
A. R. Kennedy lives in Long Beach, New York, with her two pups. She works hard to put food on the floor for them. As her favorite T-shirt says, ‘I work so my dog can have a better life’. She’s an avid traveler. But don’t worry. While she’s away, her parents dote on their grand-puppies even more than she does. Her writing is a combination of her love of travel, animals, and the journey we all take to find ourselves.
